Enjoy this relaxing tour to Devon with stunning coastal views, a wonderful Abbey and a heritage steam train journey, all based from a lovely family-owned hotel, delightfully set in 19 acres of woodlands in the heart of Dawlish Warren.

With the beach just a short walk away via a public footpath and the internationally famous nature reserve at Dawlish Warren nearby. Overlooking the Exe Estuary, it boasts gardens, lawns and magnificent sea views.

Relax and take in the beautiful surroundings, fabulous sea views or take a dip in the outdoor or indoor pools. Enjoy a walk directly from the hotels gardens along the seafront and beach.

Sunday

Following our local departures we make our way to our base for the next four nights, The Langstone Cliff Hotel Dawlish Warren. With stops en route we hope to arrive with time to relax before our evening meal.

Monday

We depart our hotel at 9.45am following breakfast this morning for our River Exe Cruise which departs at 11am. You will have free time to explore Exmouth following our cruise before we make our way back to Dawlish Warren to relax prior to our evening meal.

Tuesday

Today we spend the morning at Bicton Park & Botanical Gardens before returning to our hotel to enjoy some free time to relax or explore the local area.

Wednesday

This morning we depart at 10am and our first visit of the day is the wonderful Buckfast Abbey. Located at the centre of a picturesque valley on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, Buckfast Abbey is home to a community of Roman Catholic Benedictine Monks, who live their lives of prayer, work and study according to the ancient rule of St Benedict. There are extensive grounds to explore - including The Sensory, Physic and award-winning Millennium Gardens. The Abbey Church with its dramatic Lantern Ceiling, there is also the Monastic Way Exhibition which is an inter-active attraction giving a fascinating insight into the lives of the monks at Buckfast along with a history of religious communities throughout Europe.
The Abbey shops have an extensive range of unusual gifts, cards, books, food and drink. Many items are made by monks and nuns across the continent. Also on sale is Buckfast Abbey fudge, hand-made in the monastery kitchens.
In the Grange Restaurant you can enjoy refreshments. The Grange has a glass-covered outside seating area, with great views of the gardens and the surrounding countryside.
Following our morning at Buckfast Abbey we travel the short distance to the South Devon Railway and enjoy a return journey to Totnes with a delicious cream tea. Returning back to Buckfastleigh Station at 3.30pm we make our way back to our hotel to relax prior to our evening meal.

Thursday

We say a sad farewell to Dawlish Warren and commence our journey back to Leeds.
