Christmas at Raby Castle Park & Gardens

Raby Castle, located near Staindrop in County Durham, England, is one of the best-preserved medieval castles in the North of England. Built in the late 14th century by the  Neville family, it features impressive fortifications including towers, battlements, a massive gatehouse, and a moat. Constructed from local sandstone, the castle’s interior blends medieval grandeur with later Gothic Revival and Victorian renovations. Surrounded by 200 acres of parkland with deer, lakes, and formal gardens.

We experience a traditional family Christmas at Raby Castle. For the first time in over 50 years the ground-floor rooms will be beautifully dressed for the festive season. Your journey will take you through eight rooms, telling the story of Christmas Day at the castle. This special seasonal installation will include never before seen items from the collections at Raby Castle, from exquisite table decorations to toys and games that were gifts in decades past.
