Castle Howard at Christmas with Two Course Lunch

Once we are all on board we head to Castle Howard, hoping to arrive around 10.30am.

This year we're off to see the Wizard!

A wicked and wonderful extravaganza awaits at Castle Howard for Christmas 2025, skip down the yellow brick road to experience the House dressed as scenes from Oz.

Experience a festive take on L. Frank Baum's much-loved story, told in stately surroundings with theatrical installations, immersive soundscapes, and projections. Delight in seeing the iconic characters and unique locations from the wonderful world of Oz, brought to life in technicolour splendour.

There's no place like our home at Christmas, so click your heels and let us transport you over the rainbow to the merry old land of Oz!

Theres also lots of Christmas shopping ideas in the gift shop, farm shop & garden centre.

We will depart Castle Howard at 1.45pm and head to the Half Moon at Newton on Derwent for a delicious two course late lunch.

 

Our menu this year is:

MAIN

Pan Fried Chicken Breast served on a bed of fluffy mashed potato, seasonal veg & Creamy Brandy mushroom sauce

Steak Pie served with Chunky Chips, minted peas & gravy

Mushroom Stroganoff, served with Rice, Chips & Garlic Bread

We plan to depart around 4pm, hoping to be back in our local area around 5.30pm.
